17.6.2025

The University of Eastern Finland (UEF) is pleased to announce a two-day interactive lecture course in collaboration with the Finnish Society for Health Economics (TTTS Terveystaloustieteen seura ry) and the Yrjö Jahnsson Foundation:

The Economics of the Health and Social Care Workforce

This course will introduce participants to the economic theories essential for understanding the behaviour of individuals and institutions within health and social care labour markets. It will also explore how these theories apply across the diverse institutional arrangements that deliver health and social care in the Nordic countries.

The course is intended for researchers and policy makers in the field of health and social care. It will provide a non-technical introduction to concepts and examples. Collaborative sessions facilitate identification of policy-relevant research areas. No previous knowledge of labour economics is required.

📆 October 1–2, 2025

📍 Tieteiden talo, Helsinki, or via remote connection (both will hold interactive sessions and group work)
